New Movie review: 'Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest'

If you love hip hop, and I know you do, then this is a must see. One of the best hip hop crews of all time, finally get their doc. Directed by our man Michael Rappaport. From their early beginnings the present, Rappaport puts together an inside look and the long road Tribe has taken, and where their relationships have gone. Highly recommended for all music fans, even if you do not like hip hop per say (which you do).

Surefire winner for documentary of the year..... Senna

We saw Senna at the Violet Crown this weekend.  I could care less about racing, but this movie was absolutely a must see.  The crowd at the VC was mostly racing buffs, and at the end may of the men in the audience were crying, it was quite touching.  See this movie.

Incredible fan made video to Arcade Fire's "My Body is a Cage"

Using scenes from Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West". Just an amazing video for an "amateur" film maker. I can't give enough praise, it is perfection. A great band with put together with a great movie. Once Upon a Time in the West is one of the greatest Westerns ever made, it is a must see. The ast for Once Upon a Time in the west includes Henry Fonda, Claudia Cardinale, Jason Robards and Charles Bronson.

Not much I can say about Arcade Fire that hasn't been said already. One of the great bands going at the moment.

Fistful of Dub

A Fistful Of Dub is video mix featuring new and old dub and reggae recordings with clips from Spaghetti Westerns—not a mashup but an imaginary soundtrack where cowboys meet engines of rhythm. Track listing below the video. Hat tip to Dangerous Minds.

Movie of the year? The Trip.....

This may be the works year ever for movies - at least that I can remember.  Movies this year have been as dry as Texas.  I was lucky enough to see the English comedy, The Trip, starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, and cannot recommend the movie enough.  A great road trip movie, with beautiful scenery, existential angst, amazing food and laugh out loud comedy.  Rotten Tomatoes gives the movie a 89%.

Highly recommended.
